Background

Having first visited Bali in 1991 and travelled extensively around Indonesia in the years since, Ailsa (the founder) realised that despite the fact that her backpacking days were well and truly over, her appetite for adventure travel had not diminished.

Organising a short trip from Bali to visit orangutans in the Tanjung Puting National Park in Kalimantan (the Indonesian part of Borneo) proved to be quite a challenge from Australia. Finding a reputable tour company to gain information from and book through was laborious and booking flights online to travel on the small airlines that serviced the region was almost impossible.

We offer suggested itineraries and tailor-made tours that are suitable for different ages and  comfort levels, and also cater for those travelling alone, in small groups, or with families.

Through responsible tourism, we aim to provide much needed tourism dollars to parts of Kalimantan and Sumatra where the native orangutans are listed as endangered and critically endangered respectively due to the destruction of their natural habitat through deforestation.
